Our Health & Safety Training
Caltech provide their own fully trained Emergency Response Teams to comply with Regulation 5(Emergency Arrangements) of the Confined Space Regulations 1997. All are competent in rescue techniques and are experienced and competent in the use of various rescue equipment.
Caltech have various forms of in house training such as:
- Confined space awareness
- Stand-by attendant
- Risk Asessment
- Airline breathing apparatus
- Self contained breating apparatus
- Manual handling techniques
- Asbestos awareness
External training is also provided where necessary, ensuring that the highest standards of training are provided to our workforce at all times.
Caltech provide face fit testing for all types of RPE from disposable masks to full breathing apparatus. This test is repeated at 2 yearly intervals in accordance with company policy. Our trained and experienced staff will provide advice and guidance on suitable respiratory protection equipment for the task, also providing training on wearing of RPE to maximise their efficiency in protecting against airborne contaminants.
All personnel are required to wear light fitting face pieces such as disposable respirators, half-mask respirators and full face masks, face fit tested as required in the COSHH 2004 Regulations.
